The Ingredients

We’re intentional about quality.

Beeswax

Its definitely not just a filler. The benefits of raw beeswax are amazing! Beeswax is a natural substance made & secreted by honey bees. It never goes rancid or spoils, the perfect ingredient for natural skincare. Its antioxidant & anti-inflammatory properties encourage healing & promote skin regeneration, helping to diminish the appearance of fine lines & aging.

By acting as a protective barrier it prevents harmful bacteria from entering the body through chapped and broken skin. It will not clog your pores & it helps decrease the irritation & redness of acne-prone skin.

All this, plus it conditions, nourishes & softens coarse facial hair. Do I need to say anymore??

Fun fact:  It takes about eight pounds of honey to produce just one pound of beeswax! Thanks bees!

Mango Butter

Mango butter is plant based & 100% natural, coming from the seed of the mango. Mangoes are super rich in nutrients like potassium, magnesium, iron & zinc. Mango butter is also loaded with Vitamin A & E, fatty acids & natural antioxidants.

This makes it extremely nourishing for both your skin & hair. It will not clog your pores ( see a theme here?) & because it’s natural it won’t aggravate sensitive or acne-prone skin. Mango butter has a remarkable texture that is creamy, light & non-greasy.

Because of its rich texture it stays on the skin longer to help promote healing & hydration. Due to its healing properties it can also be used on minor sunburns, cuts & scrapes.

Kokum Butter

Kokum butter is well known for its emollient and regenerative properties. It is an amazing butter for providing enhanced barrier protection. It’s similar to cocoa butter in its composition, but unlike cocoa butter, kokum is non-comedogenic, which means it won’t clog your pores.

It’s also considered an astringent butter; it helps to constrict tissues and tighten pores reducing some of those lines we’d rather not have.

Sounds good right? Why do you care? I’m glad you asked. For every reason we just listed, Kokum butter is the unsurpassed champion and base of our Post-Shave butter. Kokum butter is perfect for stimulating healthy hair growth.

It helps cell oxygenation, making nutrients more readily available for use by scalp/skin tissues - which helps promote hair growth. It also enhances hair elasticity, helping to ward off breakage. Super important when you’re taking that beard to epic lengths!

Jojoba Oil

Jojoba oil is the best! It is definitely another one of those all-around oils. It's deeply hydrating, long lasting, anti-aging, super soothing & non-greasy. But one of our favorite benefits of jojoba oil is that its non-acnegenic.

What does that mean? I’m glad you asked. It means that jojoba oil is very similar to the natural oils in your skin, so it tricks your skin into thinking it has produced enough oil and balances oil production without causing acne or other skin problems.

Cool, right? Plus, it naturally deters microbes, helping to prevent the growth of bacteria on skin, especially under thick beard hair.

Grape Seed Oil

Grape seed oil comes from the pressed seeds of grapes, a by-product of the wine making process! Known for its anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial & antioxidant properties along with the high amounts of omega fatty acids and vitamin E, grape seed oil is a popular topical treatment for skin.

Studies have shown it can also even out skin tone when used consistently. The grape seed oil sourced for our products is expeller-pressed ONLY!

Grape seed oil produced through conventional solvent methods can result in residual solvent in the finished product. How does rubbing solvent into your face sound? Not good? We thought so too.

Apricot Oil

Like our other oils, apricot oil is high in vitamins and fatty acids that contribute to radiant healthy skin and soft manageable hair.

One benefit that sets this oil apart though, is its ability to expunge toxins and free radicals from skin cells in particular on the scalp that helps stimulate the hair follicle causing hair to grow faster, thicker & stronger.

Another great quality for dry or aging skin is that it penetrates easily and deeply into the skin’s surface, not just replenishing lost moisture but also stopping additional moisture from evaporating.

Argan Oil

Originating in Morocco, argan oil (not to be confused with Moroccan oil) is produced from the kernels of the argan tree. This super oil does all kinds of amazing things. Like all the oils we use, it’s a natural moisturizer that locks in moisture and nutrients.

Not only does it soften your beard and skin, it also protects against breakage and split ends to keep that beard healthy.

In this day and age most people have heard of CoQ10 as a supplement but did you know your body actually makes this compound? It’s an antioxidant that literally helps generate energy in your cells and you guessed it, it’s found in argan oil.

Combine that with naturally occurring vitamin E and it’s potent anti-inflammatory qualities and it becomes quite clear, argan oil is gold for your hair and skin.

Castor Oil

Our number one favorite thing about castor oil is the benefits to hair. Its antibacterial and anti fungal properties help to fight against folliculitus, dandruff (or beardruff), and skin infections.

Its ricinoleic acid content helps increase circulation to the skin and hair follicle to improve hair growth.

While the average human hair follicle grows just over a centimeter a month, some claim that using castor oil once a month can spur growth three to five times the normal rate! That’s a big manly beard in no time!

As if that’s not enough…castor oil is a humectant. That’s a fancy word that means it attracts moisture. So while it moisturizes your beard and skin it also drawing in moisture from deeper layers of skin and even out of the air!

Can I get an amen?!

Lanolin

Lanolin is extracted from the wool of sheep, more specifically, from their oil glands. It started to receive a baaaaad (groan…we couldn’t resist) rap in the 60’s because it was not being purified and processed in the right way, causing traces of pesticides and chemicals to remain in it causing allergic reactions.

With technological advancements in farming practices, extracting pure lanolin is no longer impossible, so it is back again, ruling the skin care industry.

Lanolin falls into the lipid-rich emollient class of moisturizers. One of the causes of dry skin is a lack of lipids, which allows moisture to escape. Lanolin fills in the gaps, preventing future moisture loss resulting cracked skin. Lanolin is thicker and heavier than most other additives in hair products.

When massaged into hair, it can provide a softness to otherwise unmanageable hair, making it perfect for coarse, thick facial hair.

Coconut Oil

I'm sure everyone has heard about the endless benefits of coconut oil, both internally & externally.

It really is the MacGyver of oils! It hydrates skin for 24 hours & helps to improve skin elasticity and collagen production.  It has antioxidants such as Vitamin E and Vitamin A, which help to slow down the aging process and helps to reduce the damage from free radicals and the sun. Its also so great for hair, especially coarse facial hair by helping to add softness, luster & shine.

Plus there is evidence that the lauric acid in coconut oil benefits your hair by protecting against protein loss, which is the main component needed for healthy hair.
